TAMPA, Fla. (April 21, 2007) ' The Rollins
men's tennis team put up a good fight against Lynn in the SSC
Championship Final, but fell 5-0 to the Fighting Knights. With the
win, Lynn captures their second straight Conference championship
title.
The Fighting Knights took all three singles matches on the
afternoon. Brian Compton and Jonathan Gomez lost a tough match
against Lorenzo Cava and Julien Carsuzaa 8-6 in the No. 1 spot.
Gustavo Carvalho and Pablo Seijo fell in the second seed against
Denis Reinert and Dennis Riegraf 8-4, while Michael Schwartz and
Adrian Tan lost in the No. 3 to Axel Joachim and Tomas Racak
8-3.
Only the No. 1 and No. 5 singles matches were completed as Lynn
routed Rollins. Cava defeated Compton 6-2, 6-1 in the top seeded
match, while Racak took out Seijo in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
The No. 17 Tars will be back in action on May 3-5 in the NCAA
Southeast Regional Tournament.
