WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 20, 2007) ' Sophomore
hurler Nicole Anderson pitched her fourth perfect game of the
season as Rollins rolled by Lynn University 6-0 on a rainy evening
at Lake Island Park.
Centerfielder Sherri Rabenold had a tremendous evening going 3-3
notching two more stolen bases to make her season total thus far
33. Junior Ingrid Schumacher went 3-4 with one RBI, while second
baseman Amanda DeFilippo added a 3-4 showing on the evening.
Rollins (33-10, 8-5) started the scoring early in the first
inning when Jamie Rausch blasted a double to left centerfield to
bring Stacy Sanders home for the first run. Schumacher then singled
to right field scoring Rausch and giving the Tars a 2-0 lead at the
end of the first.
In the bottom of the third, the scoring continued as Lauren
Starcher's bat exploded up the middle to bring Schumacher home to
make the score 3-0. The Tars added to their lead in the fifth
inning as catcher Victoria Rudolph hit a clutch double to left
centerfield with bases loaded scoring Shaw, DeFilippo and
Schumacher to give Rollins the 6-0 lead.
Anderson (22-8) pitched seven innings striking out seven en
route to her fourth perfect game and fifth no-hitter.
Rollins will be back in action against the Lynn Fighting Knights
(15-32) on Saturday, April 21 in a doubleheader. First pitch is
