WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 14, 2007) ' Rollins
won all but the top singles spot en route to an 8-1 victory over
Eckerd on Saturday in the final regular season match of the season.
The Tars (16-7, 4-2 SSC) will head into next weekends Sunshine
State Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed.
Eleventh ranked Brian Compton and Jonathan Gomez defeated Elmar
Koening and Bryan Lynch 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles match while
Gustavo Carvalho and Pablo Seijo downed Alex Moxam and Brian
Arbeiter 8-0 in the No. 2 spot. The Tars took the No. 3 match by
default to make it a clean sweep.
Kevin Stickney downed Lynch 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles
position with Noah John taking Moxam 6-0, 6-2 and Mike Compton
blanking Arbeiter 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4. The Tar won the No. 5 and No.
6 slots by default.
Eckerd (0-8, 0-6) scored their lone point in the No. 1 singles
spot as Koening defeated Brian Compton 6-2, 7-5.
Rollins will be back in action on April 19-21 at the Sunshine
State Conference Tournament in Tampa.
