WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 31, 2007) ' Rollins dropped a 7-0 decision to Florida Southern in the opener on Saturday, but the Tars came back to win a dramatic game two, 1-0 in 10 innings.

With two outs and two on in the bottom of the 10th of a scoreless game two, Ingrid Schumacher blasted a shot to left center that scored Amanda DeFilippo to give Rollins the win.

Sherri Rabenold led Rollins at the plate, going 3-5 on the day while Rachel Almengual batted 2-5.

Schumacher suffered the game one loss in a head-to-head dual with her younger sister Heidi of Florida Southern. Ingrid allowed nine hits and seven runs, five earned, with two walks and a strikeout. The younger Heidi scored the victory, allowing five hits and no runs with four walks and two strikeouts.

In game two, Nicole Anderson threw a gem, surrendering just one hit through the 10 innings with one walk and nine strikeouts. Megan Brown suffered the loss, allowing six hits and one run with three walks and 11 strikeouts.

A pitcher's dual erupted through the first three innings of the opener with neither team getting a runner past second base. The Mocs plated four in the fourth as Jackie Leppla hit a bases loaded, two RBI single and FSC had two more cross the plate on a two-out error. They blew the game open in the next frame as five straight one-out singles, followed by another base hit later in the inning, put three more across the plate for the 7-0 lead.

Anderson was nearly flawless in the game two marathon, allowing just a third inning single to the powerful Mocs offense. Rollins had a chance to take a lead in their half of the third as Rabenold drew a one out walk and moved to third on back to back base knocks by Almengual and DeFilippo, but was thrown out at home trying to score on a Jamie Rausch fielder's choice.

Anderson continued to mow down the Mocs hitters, but Rollins was unable to support and the scoreless game headed into extra frames. In the 10th, Rabenold led off with a single to left and Almengual sac bunted her over to second. DeFilippo drew a walk to put two on before Rausch hit into a fielder's choice that got Rabenold at third for the second out. Schumacher then blasted a shot that hit the left center wall on the fly to easily bring DeFilippo around for the game winning score.

Rollins will play a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 3 at Palm Beach Atlantic beginning at 4 p.m. They will then travel to Albany State on Friday, April 6.
