No. 20 Tars Continue To Roll With 5-0 Against William Jewell

LA JOLLA, Calif (March 14, 2007) ' Rollins swept all three doubles matches as they rolled by William Jewell College 5-0 on Wednesday morning. The Tars (11-1) now have a six match win streak under their belts.

The dominating No. 1 doubles team of Tasi Purcell and Marnie Mahler ran past Jessica Williams and Allison Cobb 8-2. They have a perfect 12-0 record this season. Sonia Bernal and Allison Arof notched their sixth straight victory defeating Syndee Mela and Angela Gambino 8-4 in the No. 2 spot. Silvia Frandji and Anastasiya Shevchenko overpowered Krista Toler and Brittany Goldschmidt 8-1 in the third position.

Purcell routed Williams 6-1, 6-0 in the top-ranked singles match, while No. 2 Mahler topped Cobb 6-1, 6-0. The remainder of the singles matches went unfinished as the Tars claimed five of nine matches.

Rollins will be back in action when they take on the Saint Leo Lions'(1-9, 0-3) at home on Tuesday, March 20 at 3:30 p.m.
