Rollins Overcomes Webber International To Stay Undefeated

BABSON PARK, Fla. (February 24, 2007) ' The Rollins College men's tennis team defeated the Webber International Warriors 6-3 on Saturday morning. This win brings the Tars overall record to 4-0.

In doubles action, the Tars took two of three matches. Jonathan Gomez and Gustavo Carvalho took out Enrique Catter and Ronnie Sang 8-4 in the No. 1 slot. Gomez and Carvalho are 3-1 in play in the first seed this season. In second seed action, Cristophe Bonadona and Cody Wright overpowered Pablo Seijo and Michael Schwartz 8-5. Adrian Tan and Albin Hubscher routed Pete Lund and Magnus Hansen 8-4 in the No. 3 position.

Rollins captured four of six singles matches against the Webber Warriors. 32nd ranked Tan defeated Catter 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1, while Gomez lost a three-set heartbreaker to Bonadona 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 2 position. Carvalho dismantled Wright 7-5, 6-3 in the third spot, as Seijo trounced Lund 6-2, 6-2 in the fourth spot. Fifth seed Hubscher struggled against Sang with Webber coming out on top 6-3, 6-3. In the No. 6, Schwartz thrashed Leigh Griffiths 6-1, 6-0.

The Tars will be back in action at home on Tuesday, February 27 when out of conference rivals the Embry-Riddle Eagles (3-1) come to town at 3:00 p.m.
