CLEARWATER, Fla. (February 23, 2007) ' In their first contest of the Eckerd College Invitational, Rollins handily defeated Palm Beach Atlantic 4-0. Sophomore pitcher Nicole Anderson held the Sailfish to only three hits with 11 strikeouts to bring her record to 4-3 on the season.

Junior centerfielder Sherri Rabenold went 2-4 on the afternoon, knocking in two RBI for the Tars. Power hitters Stacy Sanders and Jamie Rausch both went 2-3, while senior second baseman Amanda DeFilippo stunned Palm Beach Atlantic going 3-3 and scoring two RBI.

Rollins scored two runs in the third inning and the other two runs in the sixth. Right fielder Chelsea Gravini, shortstop Holly Elliott and designated player Rebecca Bolinger were the only Sailfish to notch hits off of Anderson's tremendous arm.

The Tars will be back in action tomorrow, February 24, when they take on the Florida Tech Panthers at 9:00 a.m. at the Eckerd College Invitational. At the completion of that game, Rollins will then play Le Moyne College at 11:30 a.m.
