The Tars will look to pick up win number two on
Wednesday'afternoon against Puerto Rico-Cayey.' Senior Jennifer
Musgrove and Junior center Ines Teuma each had an impressive season
opening game against Warner Southern scoring in the double digits
and posting plenty of rebounds and assists.' Musgrove led the team
in scoring, rebounds, and assists for the night, falling one point
short of a career high, and finishing one rebound short of her
seventh career double-double.
IN THE RANKINGS
The Rollins women's team has been named 2nd in the Sunshine State
Conference preseason poll.' The Tars collected 39 points and six
first place votes, falling behind University of Tampa with a total
of 34 points and 10 first place nominations, and ahead of Florida
Tech with 56 points and only one first place vote.
SERIES VS. PUERTO RICO - CAYEY
Rollins leads the series 1-0.
LAST TIME OUT
The last time Rollins and Puerto Rico-Cayey met was exactly six
years ago on November 21, 2001.' The Tars defeated Cayey 97-23,
marking the Tars' largest lead (74 pts) since 2000.
LOOKING AHEAD
This weekend the Tars will be hosting the Thanksgiving
Classic tournament, playing Puerto Rico-Bayamon and Puerto Rico-Rio
Piedras.' After a week long hiatus, the Tars will be back in action
hosting Tampa in their first SSC game of the season.
SCOUTING THE TARS
The game against Warner Southern allowed for plenty of
action from the bench as all players were able to get time on the
court.' Junior Rachael Malatesta and Junior transfer Jocelyn Kelly
was able to get 8 and 7 points respectively for the Tars, helping
the bench with their total of 40 points.
TARS TIDBITS
Rollins won itsfifteenth straight home opener on Saturday against
the Royals of Warner Southern College.' The win marked the Tars
fourteenth season opening win in the past fifteen years.'
