WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 9, 2007) ' The 15th
ranked Florida Southern Moccasins overpowered the Rollins College
Tars 3-0 (30-23, 30-20, 31-29) on Tuesday evening at Warden
Arena.
Rollins (13-10, 3-5) was led by senior Christina Reinders who
tallied 11 kills and eight digs. Stephanie Nichols had 10 kills and
seven digs and Lorena Orlandini knocked home seven kills for the
Tars. Freshman setter Erin Wareham had a big night with 25 assists
and Kim Cline registered 12 digs.
After falling decisively in the first two games, the Tars were
able to claw their way back into the match in the third. At 29-29,
an attack error by Rollins gave the Mocs the match point. Outside
hitter Jennifer King brought the win home for Florida Southern
(31-29).
Outside hitter Beverly Stasis led Florida Southern (16-6, 5-3)
with a double-double of 14 kills and 16 digs. Middle hitter
Danielle Higgnbotham totaled 12 kills and outside hitter Danielle
Durham had 10 kills and eight digs on the evening.
The Tars will be back in action on Saturday, October 13 when
they travel to Saint Leo to take on West Georgia at 9:00 a.m.,
followed by Valdosta State at 4:00 p.m. Live stats will be
