ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (October 17, 2007) ' After
more than a week off, the Rollins women's soccer team could not
shake off the rust in a 1-0 loss to non-conference opponent Flagler
on Wednesday night.' Rollins fell to 7-6-1 overall with the loss,
and the Saints improved to an even 7-7.
Flagler scored the only goal of the contest in the fourth
minute; Pam Quimby found Annika Hogberg streaking toward the goal,
and Hogberg was able to beat Rollins goalkeeper Stina Lykke
Petersen and knock it past a Tars defender for her 13th goal of the
year.' The Tars picked up the pace and sent in a barrage of shots,
18 in the first half and 27 overall, but they could not get it by
Flagler keeper Hope McArthur.
Lykke Petersen saved seven shots in goal for Rollins, while
McArthur racked up 16 saves in an impressive performance.
Rollins finished the game with a 27-15 shot advantage, and they
also were awarded 13 corner kicks to the Saints' seven.
The Tars will return to Sunshine State Conference play in a big
match at No. 10 Nova Southeastern on Saturday, October 20.' Kickoff
will start at 6:00 p.m., and fans can listen to all the action live
on the Tars Sports Network at www.RollinsSports.tv.
