WINTER PARK, Fla. (January 20, 2007) - Four players notched 10 or more points for the Rollins women's basketball team in its 75-61 victory over Sunshine State Conference opponent Eckerd.' The Tars stayed undefeated at 6-0 to lead the conference, and they improved to 14-2 overall.' Eckerd dropped to 5-12 overall and 0-6 in conference.

Rollins had several players nearly reach a double-double, including senior forward Larissa McDonough (16 points, nine rebounds) and junior guard Jennifer Musgrove (11 points, eight rebounds).' McDonough was 5-11 from the field and 3-4 from behind the three-point line.' Sophomore guard Jennifer Dyer added 14 points and seven rebounds, and sophomore forward Ines Teuma scored 10.' Musgrove led all players with five steals and five assists, and McDonough was an imposing presence under the hoop with three blocks.

Eckerd was led by the frontcourt duo of Tameron Armbrister and Gabby Gattuso.' Armbrister led the Tritons with 14 points, and she also had two steals and one block.' Gattuso, the SSC's leading scorer, added 12 points and eight rebounds.' Stephanie Grace led the team with four steals.

Rollins jumped out to a 45-25 lead in the first stanza, shooting an impressive 50 percent (14-28) from the field.' Eckerd outscored the Tars in the second half 36-30, coming within four points at one time, but Rollins was able to keep the Tritons out of striking distance.

Both teams shot well from the floor, with Rollins barely beating Eckerd 41.8 percent to 41.7 percent.' The difference in the game proved to be at the glass and the free throw line; Rollins won the rebound battle 41-32, and they also shot 20-26 at the line (76.9 percent) when Eckerd was just 3-7 (42.9 percent).' The Tars were also able to capitalize on their opponents' mistakes more often, scoring 21 points off turnovers compared to 12 for the Tritons.

Rollins will need to keep up the intensity for a tough conference contest at Florida Tech on Wednesday, January 24.' Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on the Tars Sports Network at www.RollinsSports.com.
