TAMPA, Fla. (September 20, 2006) ' The 17th
ranked Rollins men's soccer team started their Sunshine State
Conference season at Tampa on Wednesday, and the Tars defeated the
Spartans 2-1 with goals by Chris Cerroni and Juan Kusnir and two
assists by Scott Murrell.
Rollins now stands at 7-1 overall and 1-0 in SSC play.' Tampa
dropped to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
Juan Kusnir scored his fifth goal of the season just 56 seconds
into the game.' He collected a pass from Scott Murrell and put it
in to give the Tars a 1-0 lead right away.' Rollins leading scorer
Chris Cerroni netted his eighth of the year at the 28:08 mark, and
Murrell notched his second assist.' Keeron Benito put the Spartans
on the board at the 87:54 mark with an assist by Ryan Maxwell.
Both goalkeepers, Frazer Siddall for Rollins and Ryan Thompson
for Tampa, finished the game with seven saves.' The Spartans fired
off 15 shots in the match, and the Tars attempted 12.
Rollins will return home for their first SSC match at Barker
Family Stadium when they host Florida Southern on September 23 at
