2006) ' The Rollins Tars lost their first Sunshine State
Conference match of the season to the #5 Florida Southern Moccasins
(14-2, 3-0)'3-0 (30-22, 30-25, 30-22) on Wednesday evening at
Jenkins Field House.'
The Tars were led
by last week's Division II National Player and SSC Offensive Player
of the Week, outside hitter Stephanie Nichols. She notched 17
kills, one ace, 8 digs and one block.' Junior outside hitter Piper Young
added 13 kills, one ace and 10 digs.
In the first and
second games of the match, Rollins remained close with
Florida/>/> Southern in the crucial opening points, but were
unable to convert, falling 30-22 and 30-25 respectively. The Tars
started the third game with an immediate 4-1 lead, but quickly
faltered and lost the lead and the game 30-22.
Defensive specialist Kim Cline tallied 10 digs, while setter
Lacey Malarky had 41 assists and one ace.''
Rollins (9-3, 2-1)
will take on the Florida Tech Panthers on Friday, September 22 at
7:00 p.m. at Warden Arena.
