DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (September 14, 2006) ' The
Rollins College women's soccer team broke NAIA rival Embry-Riddle's
four-game shutout streak on Thursday night, but the Tars ended up
losing 4-3 in a heartbreaking back-and-forth match.
The loss is the second in three games for Rollins and brought
its record down to 5-2 overall.' The Eagles, ranked 22nd in the
NAIA, upped their record to 5-0 with their third win against
Sunshine State Conference teams.
Lindsey Evans opened up the scoring in the game for Embry-Riddle
at the 15:35 mark, and she was assisted by Jessica Garcia.' Katrina
Morgan gave the Eagles a 2-0 lead with an unassisted goal four
minutes later.' Rollins started slow, shooting only twice in the
first half compared to nine for Embry-Riddle.

Hunsberger volleyed a corner kick by Jeri Ostuw inside the near
post to give Rollins its first goal of the game at the 63:35 mark.'

half, was fouled in the Embry-Riddle penalty area just after she
reentered the game.' She converted the penalty kick at the 71:03
mark, her eighth goal of the season, to tie the game at two.' Just
one minute later Ostuw collected a pass from Giblin and drove it
into the back of the net to put the Tars up 3-2.
Just when Rollins thought it had recovered the momentum, the
Eagles struck back with a goal at the 75:50 mark when Kristen
Phelps scored on a Sarah Hirst assist.' With the score tied at
three, Garcia put one in the net for the game-winner in 81st
minute.' The goal and assist gave Garcia three points and 92 in her
Embry-Riddle career, a new school record.
The Tars will return home to begin their SSC schedule with a
match against Florida Southern on September 19, and kickoff is
scheduled for 7:00 p.m.' Fans can listen to all the action live on
