SAINT
LEO, Fla. (March 4, 2006) ' With their undefeated season and a trip
to the Sunshine State Conference tournament finals on the line, the
Rollins College women's basketball team took down the Sharks of
Nova Southeastern University 62-47 on Saturday night. Led by senior
forward Joslyn Giles' 18 points, the Tars improved to 28-0 on the
season and will face second seeded Tampa on Sunday for the
championship.

Sophomore
guard Jennifer Musgrove (Palm Bay, Fla.) had her second
double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while
seniors Randi Weiss (Kissimmee, Fla.), Sally Johnston (Winter
Springs, Fla.) and sophomore Rachael Workman (Northampton, Mass.)
each had eight points. Jennifer Havens led Nova with 20 points and
Katie Cloud notched 13.

Rollins
controlled most of the first half, going up by as many as 11 points
and were up 10 with 1:49 remaining in the half. Nova then hit two
three-pointers, including one at the buzzer to cut the halftime
lead to four, 29-25.

Nova
continued to pressure the Tars and grabbed their first lead of the
game five minutes into the second half. The lead did not last long,
as Giles (Winter Haven, Fla.) hit two baskets to put the Tars up by
three. Weiss then nailed two from three-point range in thirty
seconds, putting the Tars ahead by nine. Nova would cut the
advantage to three, only to see Rollins pull away. Giles connected
on three baskets and a free throw and with 4:03 to play, the Tars
were up by ten.

In
the end, Rollins pulled out a 15 point victory, sending them into
the finals to face Tampa , a team they beat twice in the regular
season.
'
On
the night Rollins shot 38.6 percent (22-57) from the field while
holding the Sharks to 21.1 percent (15-71). The two teams each had
48 rebounds, led by Musgrove's ten.
'
The
championship game will be held on Sunday, March 5 in Saint Leo.
Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
