Originally created by legendary Rollins coach Joe Justice in 1948
as an opportunity for the Tars to face some nationally prominent
teams in early season competition, Baseball Week has evolved into a
much anticipated stop on the Florida tour for Division I schools.
Baseball Week has always included three top Division I programs
along with Rollins. In 2006, the tournament included five Division
I programs and Rollins. Bethune-Cookman, Boston College ,
Pittsburgh , Sacred Heart and Saint Joseph 's all challenged
Rollins for the coveted Baseball Week crown.
'
The
University of Pittsburgh won the Baseball Week crown this season as
they finished with a record of 5-2 during the week. Rollins
finished 2-1 during the week and Boston College went 3-2.
