PALM BEACH, Fla. (January 24, 2006) ' The Rollins College women's
basketball team traveled to West Palm Beach on Tuesday evening to
face the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic (5-13) and emerged with a
69-42 victory. The No. 10 ranked Tars improve to 16-0 on the season
and remain one of only 10 undefeated teams in all of college
basketball, men or women.

Junior
forward Larissa McDonough (Ormond Beach, Fla.) led the Tars with a
game high 27 points. She finished the contest 8-12 from the field,
including 4-5 from behind the three-point line and 7-7 from the
charity stripe. Sophomore Jennifer Musgrove (Palm Bay, Fla.) and
Rachael Workman (Northampton, Mass.) each added nine points apiece
while senior forward Joslyn Giles (Winter Haven, Fla.) had six.

In
the first half, the Tars held the Sailfish to only 10 points, as
they went 4-22 from the field (18 percent). McDonough was able to
score 20 of her points in the first half as the Tars poured the
pressure on the Sailfish. Rollins went 5-9 from three-point range
in the half and out-rebounded Palm Beach Atlantic 22-15.

During
the second half, Rollins head coach Glenn Wilkes let his starters
rest, enabling the younger players to gain valuable playing time.
Workman went 2-5 from the field and added three free throws to
notch seven of her nine points in the second half, while freshman
Jennifer Dyer (Wake Forest, N.C.) added four points. The Tars shot
only 29 percent from the field in the half (7-24), which allowed
the Sailfish to get closer on the scoreboard. Junior guard Shae
Smith had 18 of her 24 points to lead Palm Beach Atlantic, as they
outscored the Tars 32-25 in the half.

The
first place Tars will return to Sunshine State Conference action on
Saturday, January 28, as they host Nova Southeastern University .
Game time in Winter Park is set for 2:00 p.m.
