MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (January 21,
2006) The Rollins College
women's basketball team improved to a school record 15-0 as they
defeated the Barry University Bucs in Miami Shores, 76-60. The Tars
(15-0, 7-0) survived a bit of a scare as they led the Bucs (4-13,
1-5) by only six in the second half. However, the Tars were able to
regain their focus late in the game and pull out a double digit
victory.
Senior
forward Joslyn Giles finished with a career high 23 points on 10-17
shooting from the field. Her consistent scoring kept the Tars
afloat throughout. Sophomore guard Jennifer Musgrove finished with
13 points, three steals and five rebounds. Junior forward Larissa
McDonough finished with 10 points on 3-9 shooting. And freshman
guard Jennifer Dyer netted 10 points on 4-7 shooting.
The
Bucs were led by a trio of players each finishing with 13. Princess
Bailey finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, all of her 13 came
in the second half. Sandra Jansson finished with 13 on 4-9 shooting
from three point range. And Alex Ferrnander finished with 13 points
and eight rebounds.
The
Tars will be back in action January 24th when they will
face off with Palm Beach Atlantic in West Palm Beach at 5:30
pm.
