WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 30, 2005) ' The
Rollins College women's basketball team kept their winning streak
alive on Wednesday night by defeating the Saints of Flagler College
by a score of 67-33. The win improves the Tars record to a perfect
7-0 on the season, while the Saints fall to 5-5. Senior Joslyn
Giles (Winter Haven, Fla.) led the
Tars with 17 points while sophomore Rachael Workman
(Northampton, Mass.) recorded a career
high 13 points.

The
Tars opened the game on a roll and knocked down five early baskets
to take an 11-0 lead. The Tars defense stood tall all night and
held the Saints to under 10 points until 3:31 was remaining on the
clock in the first half. The Saints kept fighting and scored four
baskets in the last 3:31 to cut the Tars lead to 30-17 at the
break. In the first half alone, the Tars forced the Saints into 18
turnovers and held them to 27% from the field (7-26).

When
play resumed in the second half, the Saints scored five early
points to cut the Tars advantage to eight. However, the Tars' speed
and depth caught up to the Saints and Rollins would go on a 29-6
run over the next 11 minutes, led by Workman with nine points.

On the evening, the Tars out-rebounded the
Saints 49-41 and had 22 steals to the Saints 33 turnovers.
Sophomore Jennifer Musgrove (Palm Bay, Fla.) tied her career high and led the
Tars with six steals while senior Sally Johnston
(Winter Springs, Fla.) also tied her
career high with five assists in the game.

The
Tars will begin play within the Sunshine State Conference on
Saturday, December 3, as they travel to Melbourne, Fla. to face
Florida Tech. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
