Biography

2010 (Redshirt): Sat out the season due to a medical hardship.

2009 (Sophomore):  Made eight starts and ended with a 1-1 record…pitched 14 innings and recorded a 7.71 ERA…had a great March, which included six appearances with his first five appearances allowing just one run over 8.2 innings…made first appearance against Saint Anselm (3/05/09) and preserved the shutout in the one inning effort…best season effort came against No. 3 Florida Southern (3/20/09) when Venegas tossed three shutout innings, allowing three hits and one walk in a 5-1 loss.

2008 (Redshirt): Medical redshirt.

2007 (Freshman): Appeared in 10 games and started two before a season-ending elbow injury...posted a record of 1-2 with 12 strikeouts in 22.2 innings...picked up his first career win in the Tars'' 8-5 victory over New Haven on 3/12/07 in which he gave up three earned runs through five innings...gave up just two runs on four hits in five innings out of the bullpen in Rollins’ 7-5 loss to Barry in the game one of a doubleheader on 3/18/07.

High School: Won three letters as a pitcher for Edgewater High School...earned Honorable Mention honors...led his team to a 20-6 record.

Personal: Born April 2, 1988...son of Ron and Sandra Venegas...undecided on a major.
