Biography

Third year player who brings experience and talent to the Tars lineup.

2008-09: Posted a singles record of 14-5 in the Tars spring season, including a 9-4 mark in the No. 5 position. Moved to the No. 6 slot near the end of the season and posted a 4-1 mark down the stretch, including postseason. Teamed with Stefaniya Tkach to go 19-4 in doubles play, including an 11 match winning streak to begin the season. Steele moved up a flight and teamed with Roshni Luthra against Barry in the NCAA Regional, earning an 8-3 victory. In the fall season, Steele was a finalist of the Blue Flight at the Embry-Riddle Open to begin the year. At the Tars’ C.L. Varner Memorial Tournament, she teamed with Bradleigh Lore to advance to the finals of the B Flight doubles and was a semifinals in the A Flight singles. 

2007-08: Appeared in five matches on the singles side and four in doubles of the Tars spring season. Posted a record of 4-1 in singles play and teamed with Sydni Katz and Margaret Junker to go 4-0 in doubles play. In the fall, participated in the Tars’ C.L. Varner Memorial Tournament. 

High School: Steele was captain of her varsity tennis team at the Summit Country Day School. She went undefeated in high school and was a state finalist. During high school career won the MVP Award and Coach''s Award. Also played for Cincinnati Classics team.

Personal: Born 11/14/88...Daughter of John and Jeanine Steele...Major is International Relations.
