In November 2019, Ben Katz started Rollins College’s esports program with the help of Nate Arrowsmith and some of his friends. The program exploded in popularity, peaking at over 200 club members and 25 students competing nationally in collegiate esports in Rollins’ name. Katz started his position as Esports Director at Rollins College in February of 2024.
Katz graduated from Rollins College in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies. While pursuing his degree, he competed on Rollins College’s Rocket League team, which participated in national collegiate esports leagues such as the National Association for Collegiate Esports (NACE) and the National Esports Collegiate Conferences (NECC)
Katz now enjoys playing VALORANT, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and various single-player/cosy games. Outside of gaming, he enjoys reading fantasy and science-fiction novels and building LEGO sets. He lives in Maitland, FL, with his cat, Oliver, a Russian blue mix.
