Biography

2017 (Senior): Appeared in 14 games for the Tars, making 14 starts on the year… Batted .314 while tallying two doubles, eight RBI, and 10 runs scored…went four of five on stolen bases and finished with a .340 on base percentage.

2016 (Junior): Did not play due to injury

2015 (Sophomore): Burket was named SSC Player of the Week during the first week of the season as he hit a walk-off home run to help the Tars sweep Young Harris and begin the season 3-0..In his second season at Rollins, Burket batted .313 in 34 games played this season...Burket started in 29 games and had 20 runs scored, 36 hits, 7 doubles, three home runs and 23 rbi''s in 115 at-bats...Fall Athletic Director''s Honor Roll....Spring Athletic Director''s Honor Roll.

2014 (Freshman): Burket played a dual role for the Tars having pitched in six games, while playing the field in 17 (12 starts)…the freshman composed a 6.75 ERA in six appearances, including five starts…logged 18.2 innings with 12 strikeouts, earning a 1-2 record…recorded a career-best four strikeouts in his first collegiate start against Young Harris (2/2)…also played the hot corner for the Tars as he finished the season batting .212…matched a season-best two hits on three occasions…posted a season-high two RBI against Nova Southeastern in the final game of the 2014 season…went 2-for-4 with a double, a season-best two runs, and a stolen base against Bridgeport (4/24) in the Tars’ annual Boston road trip... ended the season with three multi-hit games and one multi-RBI game…totaled 10 hits, including five doubles, with five runs, six RBI and three stolen bases...Fall Athletic Director''s Honor Roll...SSC Spring Commissioner''s Honor Roll...Spring Athletic Director''s Honor Roll.

High School: Home schooled, but played baseball at Central Florida Christian Academy…played three positions for CFCA and helped lead the team to a district championship in 2013…reached the regional finals during junior season…tabbed First Team All-District his senior year…two-time MVP for CFCA…in his final season, batted .431 with a 0.94 ERA – strikeouts per 9 innings: 1.62…at the conclusion of senior campaign, ranked second in RBI, first in runs, second in home runs, third in doubles and ninth in ERA in the Central Florida area.

 Personal: Born Philip Aaron Burket in Winter Garden, Fla. to Kathy and Greg Burket…two brothers, Eric and Jeremy…two sisters, Leah and Katie…father Greg played baseball at Florida Junior College…majoring in media and cultural studies…throughout prep career, volunteered at various camps, schools and shelters working with children; and played in a band that uses music in outreach to children.
