WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 19, 2026) - Men's soccer finds themselves back in the win column following a 1-0 effort against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday. The Tars now stand at 3-2-1, 1-1-0 SSC on the year, while the Sailfish drop to 2-2-3, 1-1-0 SSC. 

Neither team came out of the gates blazing as the first half of the first half only saw one shot on goal, a Sailfish strike saved by Kilian Vallant. The Tars did not have their first attempt on target until the 27th minute when a header from Pedro Lameiras was stopped by Flavio Giavanni. 

Aside from those two efforts, offense was lacking due to the physical play of both teams. The Sailfish commanded time of possession, holding the ball for 70% of the first half, but the Rollins defense was stout in keeping them from getting good looks at the goal. The game was scoreless at half. 

The Tars turned up the heat in the second half, with Pablo Herrero recording a shot on target in the first three minutes. Shortly after, Lameiras used impeccable footwork to squeeze past three defenders and find space. He then tapped the ball to Finlay Prain, who demonstrated some fancy footwork of his own in the box, juking a defender and the keeper before ripping a laser into the back of the net for the only goal of the game. 

The final forty minutes of play saw a desperate Palm Beach Atlantic team try their hardest, but fail, to break through the Rollins backline. An impressive amount of screaming and falling to the ground earned the Sailfish nine free kicks and the Tars three yellow cards. Still, good communication on the field had the Tars rise to the occasion and stifle the opposition's attack. 

Palm Beach Atlantic outshot Rollins 12-4, including four on target against the Tars' three. Vallant was flawless in goal, stopping four shots in his first clean sheet of the season. Prain's goal was his fifth of the year, giving him the team lead. 

Next up for the Tars is a road game at Embry-Riddle on Wednesday, September 23. The two teams matched up just ten days ago, with the Eagles claiming a 2-1 win over Rollins in Winter Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm in Daytona.
