DENVER, Colo. (August 29, 2026) - Women's soccer completed their Colorado road trip in the best way, blanking the Regis Rangers 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Tars improve to 2-0 on the young season while the Rangers fall to 1-1.
The 11:00 am Mountain Time start saw a slow-moving first half as the two teams struggled to create chances. In fact, they combined for only three shots in the first 45 minutes of the game as Rollins held a slight advantage in the attack.
The Tars came out of the second half with new-found purpose, focusing on creating pressure in the Ranger zone. They were finally able to break through in the 56th minute when team captain
Gabby Boyd delivered a perfect cross to
Chloe Milton, who banged home her first career collegiate goal.
Just two minutes later, Boyd saw her role reversed as she delivered a second strike for the Tars following an entry pass from
Gianna Babusci, making it a 2-0 match.
With the comfortable lead, Rollins was able to focus on their defense. Regis turned their offensive pressure up in the final half hour of play, ripping four shots including three on target. Fortunately,
Lauren Mehos was up to the task, stifling each attack.
This was the second meeting between the two schools, with the other match, a 4-2 Rollins win, coming in 2012.
The Tars return to the Sunshine State on Sunday evening, and will prepare for their home opener on Thursday, September 3 when they host the Tusculum Pioneers at Cahall-Sandspur Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
