DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 11, 2026) – Rollins women's basketball fell to Embry-Riddle on the road Wednesday night in a midweek SSC matchup, 78–50.
Faith Newton opened the scoring with a three on the Tars' first possession, but ERAU quickly flipped the momentum, using a Rollins scoring drought to put together a 17–0 run.
Claire Erickson stopped the stretch at the line before
Elaina Kline-Ruminski added a bucket on the next trip down to cut the deficit to 12. The Eagles answered with a pair of scores, though
McKenna Murphy closed the quarter with a three to make it 23–10 after one.
Embry-Riddle struck first again in the second before
Grace Craig knocked down a jumper to get Rollins back on the board. Erickson added a free throw following another ERAU push, and Craig traded baskets with the Eagles to keep the Tars within reach.
Jordyn Egger converted on a Craig assist to try to chip away, but ERAU continued to apply pressure. Craig added one more bucket before halftime as the Eagles carried a commanding lead into the break.
The Eagles extended the margin to 20 coming out of the locker room before Erickson connected from deep to slow the surge. Newton followed with a three of her own a minute later, and Craig added points at the line to keep the deficit hovering in the 20s. Kline-Ruminski later knocked down a triple to trim the gap, but Embry-Riddle answered each Rollins basket, including scores from Egger and Erickson, to maintain control.
Makayla Daube provided a late spark with an offensive rebound and putback, and Egger closed the quarter with a three to make it 61–40 heading into the final frame.
Victoria Escribano opened fourth-quarter scoring with a pair from the stripe before both teams endured a brief scoring lull.
Tara Murray broke the silence with a three, but ERAU responded with a jumper before extending the lead down the stretch. Escribano added another basket off an Egger assist with just over five minutes to play, though the Eagles finished on an 11–3 run to secure the 78–50 win, with Murray accounting for the lone Tar points during that stretch.
All nine Tars found the scoring column in the contest. Erickson and Craig led the way with eight points apiece, with Erickson also dishing out a team-high four assists and Craig pulling down eight rebounds. Murray, Kline-Ruminski, and Newton each connected twice from beyond the arc, helping Rollins shoot 34.6% from three.
Rollins moves to 7–16 overall and 2–14 in SSC play, while Embry-Riddle improves to 16–5 (11–4 SSC). The Tars will look to bounce back Saturday, Feb. 14, with a 2 p.m. road matchup against Tampa.
