LAKELAND, Fla. (October 3, 2026) - Women's soccer powered through weather delays and a tough Florida Southern defense to earn a hard-fought 0-0 draw on Saturday night. The Tars now stand at 6-3-1, 3-1-1 SSC on the year while the Mocs move to 4-0-7, 1-0-4 SSC.
A soggy Saturday night limited chances for both teams in the first half. In the first 45 minutes, the two teams combined for just seven shots with only one, from the Tars'
Sophia Puccia, counting as on target. When the halftime horn sounded, it was 0-0.
The second half saw an extreme flip of the coin as Florida Southern unleashed a dozen shots towards the Rollins net, including five on goal. Thankfully for Rollins,
Lauren Mehos was up to the task, stopping all five attempts to keep the Mocs off the board.
Unfortunately, Rollins did not have much of an answer on offense; they only added one more shot, an off-target strike, to their ledger in the second half.
The Tars were tagged for a pair of yellow cards in the second half, but their defense was stout. In addition to Mehos' effort in goal, the defensive backline also stopped eight corners, including six in the final frame.
Next up for Rollins is a home match against Barry on Saturday, October 10. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm from the 'Spur.
