WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 21, 2026) -
Finlay Prain continued his hot streak in the most dramatic fashion, scoring an equalizing goal in the 90th minute to help Rollins draw 3-3 with Florida Tech. The Tars now stand at 5-5-3 (3-4-2 SSC) while the Panthers move to 8-3-4 (6-1-2 SSC).
The Panthers struck first in the 18th minute. A long throw in put the ball in the box, and it ended up at the feet of Nikolai Brokhaug Gabrielsen. He was able to work it through a couple bodies and into the net for a 1-0 lead.
Less than a minute later, the Tars responded. A throw in from
Jaden Splunge went towards Prain, who faked left, and spun to his right, allowing the ball to roll past he and his defender. He was able to chase down the throw, and from an impossible angle, rip a shot past the Panther keeper to tie the game.
Prain's second strike may be up for goal of the year. After a turnover, he worked around four Panther defenders in the box with incredible footwork before launching his second strike that put the Tars up 2-1 in the 23rd minute.
Florida Tech was able to connect again before the halftime break. A long cross put the ball in striking distance, and again, after bouncing around, found an open Panther. This time it was Simeon Weber who connected for his first goal of the year.
The second half saw 35 minutes of aggressive, playoff-level soccer, with neither team's defense allowing much of an opportunity. Then, in the 82nd minute, a fluke play allowed Florida Tech to take the lead. A monster throw in from the sideline landed in the box, and bounced over a Rollins defender. This allowed Tommaso Casadei to pop the ball in the net, putting the Panthers up one.
The final eight minutes saw Rollins turn up the heat, doing their best to tie the game. After a number of failed chances, they had one final run in the tank. With
Pedro Lameiras controlling the ball, he was able to thread a perfect pass between two defenders to the streaking Prain. The junior unleashed a shot that bounced off the keeper's arm, rolled to the far post, and trickled into the net, tying the game with 40 seconds left. The game ended in a 3-3 tie.
Prain's first career hat trick is his fourth consecutive game with multiple goals. He is now up to 15 on the year, the 6th-most in a season in program history. Vallant recorded six saves in goal.
Before the game Vallant, Lameiras, and teammates
Max Walker,
Noah Tatlonghari, and
Pablo Herrero were honored in a senior day celebration with their teammates.
The Tars have two more games on their regular season slate. Next up is a road game at North Georgia on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for noon.
