Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Tars Stymied by Panthers

Florida Tech defeated Rollins 2-0 on Wednesday

MELBOURNE, Fla. (September 24, 2025) - Men's soccer dropped their first SSC contest of the season, falling to the Florida Tech Panthers 2-0 on Wednesday. The Tars now stand at 3-2-1 (0-1 SSC) while the Panthers improve to 3-0-2 (1-0 SSC).

Rollins had a great chance to score early on in the sixth minute, but Jakob Theuerkauf's strike bounced off the left woodwork. Minutes later, it was Tech on the attack, but Kilian Vallant stopped a pair of on-target shots to keep the game scoreless.

In the 21st minute, Vallant was hit with a yellow card after illegal contact in the box. That resulted in a penalty kick for the Panthers. Caio de Amorim de Deus converted the chance to put Tech up 1-0.

The second goal of the game came in the second half when de Amorim de Deus collected a feed from Mario Rekirsch and scored his second goal of the game.

Rollins was able to put two shots on target in the remaining minutes, but both were saved by Elias Ronning Orn.

The Tars outshot the Panthers 15-11, but the Panthers had the edge in shots on goal, 7-4. It was a very physical game, with 29 total fouls being called between the two teams.

Next up for Rollins is a home match against Barry on Saturday, September 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 pm from Cahall-Sandspur Field.
