WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (May 2, 2025) – The Rollins softball team won the first game of a three-game series at Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday, 4-1. The Tars are now 28-14 overall, 17-11 in SSC play, while the Sailfish drop to 11-25, 5-23 in conference games.
Brianna Perantoni went 3-for-4 with a triple while
Brie Michelli was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Emily MacMullen (7-6) tossed a complete game to earn the win, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while tying a career high with 11 strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Fourth Inning
- After PBA opened the scoring with a run in the third, the Tars quickly answered back in the top of the fourth.
- Michelli got the two-out rally started with a double and then moved to third on a passed ball.
- Claire Long then singled her home to tie the game at one.
Fifth Inning
- Kaeli Zahradnik led off the fifth with a pinch-hit single and promptly stole second.
- Grace Germer then singled to score Zahradnik, putting Rollins on top, 2-1.
- Perantoni kept the line moving with a single, and Brooke Theisen continued the trend with an infield hit that plated Germer to make it 3-1.
- Two batters later, Jaden Walker singled home Theisen to push the lead to 4-1.
Seventh Inning
- Once MacMullen was handed the lead, she did not allow the Sailfish any opportunity to mount a comeback, holding PBA to just one baserunner over the final three innings.
- MacMullen struck out seven of the final nine batters she faced, including striking out the side in the seventh to secure the 4-1 win.

The Tars and Sailfish will wrap up the series and the regular season tomorrow with a doubleheader slated for a noon start.
