Fifth-Ranked Bucs Too Much for Tars

Barry defeated Rollins 7-0 on Sunday afternoon

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (April 6, 2025) - Women's tennis saw their modest three-game winning streak snapped by #5 Barry on Sunday, falling to the Buccaneers 7-0. The loss drops Rollins to 10-6 overall with a 3-4 record against SSC opponents. The Bucs improve to 16-1.

Barry opened the day by taking all three doubles courts for the first point. The Tars' best effort came on court three, where Milla Falster/Stella Fruijtier played Dinara Alloiarova/Alina Michaelitsch to a 6-4 final.

The lower half of the single courts finished first, and clinched the match for Barry. They took home wins on five, four, and three to secure the overall victory. Rollins played hard on one and two in a pair of fun matchups. On the featured court, Nancy Liu took the first set against Viktoriia Dema 6-4, but then fell 3-6. In the tiebreaking third set, Dema outlasted the Tar sophomore, 10-7. On court two, Amina Taibi and Alina Michalitsch were locked into a wild first set that required an 11-9 tiebreak to determine Barry's number two the winner. She then followed with a 6-3 second set to clinch.

Next up for the Tars is a road match at Tampa on Thursday, April 10. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
