ORLANDO, Fla. (March 8, 2025) - Women's tennis kept their winning streak in tact on Saturday, defeating the Southeastern Fire 5-2 at the USTA National Campus. The Tars now stand at 7-3 on the year while the Fire move to 7-3.
Southeastern started the day with the advantage with a pair of wins in doubles play. They captured court three early, but Rollins bounced back with a 6-2 win on two from

Amina Taibi. With the first point of the match at stake,

Nancy Liu were locked into a tough one on court one, barely falling to Irene Lopez/Carlotta Marzano, 7-5.
The Tars planned their comeback and executed it when it came to singles play.
Stella Fruijtier was the first to finish, claiming a 6-4, 6-0 win on five, her fourth straight. Taibi then put the Tars ahead when her opponent had to retire following Taibi's 7-5 win in the first set on court two. Next door,
Nancy Liu cruised to a win on the featured court, winning 6-3, 6-3 over Marzano on one.
Senior Polina Valsova secured the match for Rollins in a fun match on three. She and Neleah Neiberline went to a tiebreaker in the first set, with Vlasova earning a 7-6 (3) victory. She then went 6-4 in the second frame to capture the match.
The final two duels each needed a third set to complete. On six, Abdulloeva bounced back from a 7-5 loss to go 6-2, 6-3 and give Rollins five points on the day. The Fire earned their second point on four where
Nina Mitrofanova fought hard, but ultimately fell 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
The Tars will have one match next week during spring break. Rollins will host D-1 Davidson on Thursday, March 13th at the USTA National Campus. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
