ORLANDO, Fla. (March 7, 2025) - Men's tennis dropped their second straight match on Friday, losing to the #13 Wayne State Warriors 4-3. The Tars now stand at 7-5 on the season, while the Warriors improve to 8-2.
Rollins started off well with a clean sweep of doubles play to earn the first point. The Tar duos were switched up, and the head coach
Jay Friedman's gambit paid off.

Fabian Gusic enjoyed a 7-5 win on court one,

Luke Quaynor were 6-2 victors on court two, and

Richard Stoiberer took court three, 6-3.
Singles play was a different story. Wayne State captured the win on court one, but Rollins responded with a 6-3, 6-3 win on six from the freshman Cappellaro. Line four saw Wayne state defeat
Richard Stoiberer in a tight 7-5, 7-5 battle that tied the match at two apiece.
The Tars retook the lead for the third time when
Mo Anterist emerged victorious on five with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 effort. Again, Wayne State showed their grit by winning court two, making the final on three the deciding factor.
Tom Wasner took the first set 6-3, but
Fabian Gusic fought back with a 6-4 win in the second, sending it to a third and final set. It required extra points, but in the end, the Warriors came out on top, 7-5.
"Certainly an opportunity missed today to take the match from the solid Detroit team," remarked Friedman. "The moments where there but we just weren't prepared to step through them today."
Next up for Rollins is a home match against Mount Olive on Monday, March 10. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
