ORLANDO, Fla. (March 24, 2025) – The 13th-ranked Rollins men's tennis team picked up a 7-0 sweep of visiting Franklin Pierce on Monday afternoon. The Tars are now 9-6 on the year, while the Ravens drop to 4-6.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
Singles
- Quaynor was leading 6-0, 1-0 on court one when his opponent retired, giving Rollins a 2-0 lead.
- De Giacomo made it 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-1 win on court two, and Anterist clinched the match with a 6-2, 7-5 win on court three.
- Stoiberer made it 5-0 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on court four, and Phillip McMurray kept the clean sheet alive with a 7-5, 6-1 win on court six.
- Cappellaro completed the 7-0 sweep with a 6-7 (3), 7-6 (3), 10-0 win at number five singles.
"Not our cleanest effort, but really proud of Phil getting his 10th career win," said Head Coach
Jay Friedman. "Also proud of Pietro for battling back and winning 10-0 in the super tiebreak to win his match after we clinched it."
