INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 15, 2025) - The Rollins men's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of a strong Washburn University squad. The Tars were swept by the Ichabods, who quickly clinched the doubles point and won the match securing victories on #1, #2 and #4 singles.
In both doubles matches, Rollins' duos were right there. On court one,,
Luke Quaynor and
Richard Stoiberer fell 6-4. In doubles two, Moritz Anterist and
Pete Tran lost by the same score. The match on numb er three went unfinished with the point already clinched.
The #8 seeded Ichabods continued their success in singles, with Quaynor,
Fabian Gusic and
Pete Tran all dropping matches. With the game decided, other courts were left unfinished. Meanwhile,
Nico de Giacomo and
Richard Stoiberer found themselves ahead one set to none prior to the match being called.
