Tars Roll Past Night Hawks

WINTER PARK, FLA. (November 29, 2025) – Rollins women's basketball earned a post-Thanksgiving victory on Saturday afternoon, rolling past the Thomas University Night Hawks, 91–56.
The Tars came out firing, building a quick 10–2 lead behind early baskets from Grace Craig, Tara Murray, and Faith Newton. Thomas answered with a brief push to pull within one possession, but Victoria Escribano restored momentum with an and-one finish at the rim. Elaina Kline-Ruminski added a smooth jumper in the paint to close the quarter, giving Rollins a 15–10 edge after one.
Kline-Ruminski stayed hot to open the second, dropping in two more buckets to keep Rollins comfortably ahead. Murray followed up with back-to-back threes to stretch the gap, and Ellie Thompson joined the surge with consecutive triples of her own. Thompson then found Craig inside for another score, setting the stage for Zai Mitchell to beat the halftime horn with a three-pointer that gave Rollins its first double-digit advantage of the day.
Newton took over out of the locker room, accounting for nine of the Tars' first 12 points in the third to fully swing momentum in Rollins' favor. Thompson and Craig continued to pressure the Night Hawks, each adding key buckets to send the Tars into the fourth with a 65–47 lead.
Rollins poured it on in the final frame, with baskets coming from all over the roster. Kline-Ruminski, McKenna Murphy, Escribano, Jordyn Egger, and Mitchell all contributed as the Tars broke the game wide open. Murphy pushed the margin past 30, while Escribano and Egger added the finishing touches to secure the 91–56 win.
Nine different Tars scored in the victory, highlighted by a scorching 15-for-27 performance from three (55.6%) and a 43.4% effort from the field overall. Rollins forced 13 turnovers while committing just four of their own, converting those miscues into 17 points. Thompson led the way with 15, while Newton and Craig chipped in 12 each; Mitchell and Murray also reached double figures. Craig rounded out a strong afternoon with a team-high eight rebounds and five assists.
Rollins improves to 4-1 on the season and returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 3, for a 5:30 p.m. SSC matchup against Florida Tech.
