BOCA RATON, Fla. (November 16, 2025) - Men's soccer saw their SSC tournament run end in the same fashion as 2024, falling to the Lynn Fighting Knights in the championship game. The Tars now stand at 10-4-5 on the year, while the Knights improve to 13-2-2.
The first half was pretty tame overall, with SSC Player of the Year Dominik N'Gatie scoring the only goal in the 34th minute.
Things changed in the second half as the Lynn offense unleashed a relentless attack on the Tars. Thiago De Carvalho scored twice in a ten-minute span, with Paul Brauckmann adding one in the 66th as well.
The highlight of the game for the Tars came in the 72nd minute. Freshman
Ivar Bjorgvinsson dropped a nice pass to the right side of the box where
Finlay Prain collected and ripped a heater into the net to make the score 4-1.
Lynn added two more goals to make the final of 6-1.
Every stat weighted heavily in the favor of the Knights, including a 23-7 advantage on shots and 10-2 advantage of shots on goal.
Three Tars ...
Zico Groenveld,
Finlay Prain, and
Hayden Judge ... were named to the All-SSC Tournament team.
Despite the loss, Rollins should have a good enough resume to earn at at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Their fate will be decided and announced on Monday, November 17 at 6:30 pm during the NCAA Selection Show on NCAA.com.
