Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Late Goal Leads to Draw Against #8 Sailfish

Rollins and Palm Beach Atlantic played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 1, 2025) - Men's soccer was poised to hand out their third top-ten upset of the season, but a late goal from #8 Palm Beach Atlantic caused a 1-1 draw in the final game of the regular season. The Tars wrap up their pre-playoff campaign with a record of 8-3-5 (5-2-3 SSC), while the Sailfish move to 12-1-2 (8-0-2 SSC).

The Tars got on the board early on a screamer from Jordan Proulx. After a ball was played into the Sailfish zone, it bounced around and ended up at the feet of Yousef Shakweer. He instantly moved the ball to Proulx and cut towards the net, giving Proulx plenty of space. From about twenty yards out, he let it rip, and was able to curve the ball into the net for his second goal of the year.

Palm Beach Atlantic nearly equalized in the 32nd minute, but a shot from Marian Rutkowski hit the crossbar and bounced away. Rollins keeper Kilian Vallant only saw one shot on target late in the half that he stopped with ease.

Just past the midpoint in the second half, the Tars were hit with a double booking on a play where a slide from Jayden Fernandez took down a Sailfish player, and after the whistle, the ball was kicked and hit the downed player in the head. Moments later, the Rollins bench was hit with a yellow, followed by a caution awarded to Shakweer in the 82nd.

With the clock ticking down under two minutes to go, the Sailfish were awarded a free kick on a Rollins foul. The spot of the ball seemed pretty far off from where the violation happened, but the refs played on. A booming kick from Sailfish keeper Flavio Giannini made it to the Rollins box, where it was headed out by Marko Borovic. His pass ended up at the chest of Juan Hermoso, who let it bounce before booting it out of the air, and miraculously fitting it between Vallant's outstretched hand and the crossbar for the equalizer.

Palm Beach Atlantic outshot Rollins 16-9, but each team only had four shots on target. The whistles were incredibly lopsided as the Tars were called for 22 fouls and five yellow cards compared to ten fouls and two yellows against the home team.

Rollins secured a hosting position as a top four seed for the upcoming SSC tournament. However, they will not know their opponent or seed until Florida Tech at Barry match concludes on Thursday, November 6. No matter the opponent, Rollins will host a quarterfinal game on Monday, November 10 at 6:00 pm.
