WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 25, 2025) - Men's soccer had the scoreboard working overtime on Saturday, handing out a 6-1 shellacking to the Embry-Riddle Eagles. The Tars now stand at 7-3-4 (4-2-2 SSC) while the Eagles move to 2-11-2 (0-7-1 SSC).
It actually took a while before the first goal was recorded in the 25th minute.
Finlay Prain was being a pest to the Eagle defense, and drew enough attention to leave
Pablo Herrero open. He made a quick pass ot his teammate and Herrero slammed it home for a 1-0 lead.
It took less than a minute into the second half for the Tars to strike again. Prain worked a ball to the corner, and Deigo Barcelos quickly sent it through the box on a line.
Justin Nelson received and struck instantaneously, scoring his seventh goal of the year.
About six minutes later, Rollins was called for a handball in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Tom Shepherd was successful, giving the Eagles their only goal of the game.
Thirty seconds later, Barcelos intercepted a failed clearance and blasted home a rocket from short distance to make it 3-1.
About two minutes after that, Prain played a similar card, causing a turnover and shooting right away, netting his second of the year.
The last two goals for the Tars were both memorable. Senior
Michel Hoelscher scored his first Rollins goal on a corner play.
Kaden Foreman sent the ball across the box to Nelson, who sent it right back to the original side. Hoelscher was waiting and connected on a brace for a 5-1 lead.
The final strike came with about ten minutes to play. Senior
Ben Burgess checked into the game before a corner kick. As the ball was sent into the box,
Daniel Keripe put his head on the ball, and Burgess smacked it home for his first career goal in 43 games.
Rollins was on another level in the second half, shooting the ball 19 times. They totaled 26 shots in the game with a whopping 14 on target. They also won the corner advantage, 9-5.
Prior to the game, the coaching staff recognized eight graduating seniors in their final regular season home game. Congrats to
