Tampa defeated Rollins 2-0 on Wednesday night

TAMPA, Fla. (October 1, 2025) - Women's soccer suffered a conference road loss on Wednesday, falling 2-0 at the University of Tampa. The Tars fall to 4-3-1 on the year with a 0-2-1 record in SSC play. Tampa improves to 3-3-1, 1-2-0 SSC.

Lauren Mehos was put to the test early in the match, saving four shots on goal in the first twelve minutes of play. Tampa dominated the time of possession numbers, but the Tar defense stood up to the test.

Rollins was able to put a couple strikes near the box, but both of their attempts were snuffed out by Lia Doohan. In turn, Tampa put the first goal on the board in the 31st minute on a shot from Ally Wold.

The next twelve minutes didn't see much action, but that was changed quickly when Mimi Cronquist connected following a free kick to extend the lead to 2-0.

Rollins came out aggressively in the second half, but their three shots in the first ten minutes of play were all stymied by Doohan. The match went scoreless in the second as Tampa held on for the win.

Mehos collected a season-high eight saves in the loss. Gabby Boyd had two shots on goal to lead the Tar attack.

Rollins will have the weekend off before returning home for a match on Wednesday, October 8 against Florida Southern. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
