WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 18, 2024) – The Rollins women's tennis team closed out the 2024 season with a 6-1 defeat to Florida Southern on Thursday. The Tars end the campaign with a 6-11 mark, 3-6 in SSC play, while the Mocs end the year 9-11 with an identical 3-6 record in conference matches.
The match was not only the final match of the 2024 season for the Tars, but also the final match in the illustrious career of Rollins Head Coach
Beverly Buckley. She wraps up her career with a spectacular 530-303 record, which is the seventh-most all-time wins in NCAA II women's tennis history.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Doubles
- FSC earned the doubles point with 6-3 wins on all three courts to open the match.
Singles
- After the Mocs got a quick win on court five, Erin Yaroshuk scored what would prove to be Rollins' lone point of the day with a 6-0, 6-2 win on court six.
- Florida Southern got straight-set wins on courts two and four to clinch the match, and the visitors ended up taking the points on courts one and three in three-set contests as well.
