INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 28, 2023) - The NCAA announced the seeding for the eight-team Championship Tournament bracket for Division II baseball on Sunday afternoon. Rollins, making their second appearance in as many seasons, was given the #4 seed following their 39-17 record through 56 games played this season.
Rollins advanced to the championship following a two-game sweep of the Barry Buccaneers in the South Super Regional, which was held at Alfond Stadium in Winter Park. Rollins took game one 7-4, and then blew out the Bucs 7-1 in the clinching game on Saturday afternoon.
The Tars' first opponent will be five-seed Cal State San Bernardino (43-17), the champions of the West Region. Millersville (45-8) earned the #1 seed as the champions of the Atlantic Region. They will face #8 Indianapolis (39-19), who captured the Midwest Region with a big upset of Quincy University, the #5 team in the country.
On the other side of the bracket, North Greenville 49-9) was given the #2 seed, despite being the #1 ranked team in the country for almost the entire spring. They will take on Central Region champion and #7 seed Augustana (46-19). The final matchup will put South Central champ Angelo State (52-9), the three-seed, versus six-seed Southern New Hampshire (42-11).
Rollins and CSSB will be the first game of the tournament, with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 3 from the USA Baseball complex in Cary, NC. The championship is a double-elimination format.
