Win Streak Reaches Double Digits

Rollins defeated Northwood 6-1 on Friday afternoon

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 10, 2023) - The Rollins Tars stayed hot at home, taking home their tenth straight victory with a 6-1 win against visiting Northwood University on Friday.

The doubles point went to the Tars after Efe Comu/Luke Quaynor held it down on court one, winning 6-4, and Mikkel Baumann/Guillermo Castaneda breezed through their opponents on court two, 6-0. The Timberwolves took court three to avoid the straight sweep.

Moritz Stenzer secured the first point for Rollins on singles three with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kuzma Zubril. Castaneda was the next to finish on court one, with a smooth 6-1, 6-2 taming of Max Wild. Charlie Putrino III then secured the win with a 6-3, 6-2 effort in position six.

The Tars also took home a win on court two with Richard Stoiberer coming through with a 7-6 (2), 6-1 win over Leon Grundstrom. Baumann locked in the sixth point for Rollins on court four. He defeated Eduardo Cabral 6-2, 7-6 (6).

"Solid performance from the whole team to take on a gritty Northwood squad," said head coach Jay Friedman. "We're really appreciative of the crowd getting into it in the doubles and helping us out! Now we are looking ahead to three big time matches in the next six days, all against quality, nationally-ranked opponents. All three are home, so I hope we can get some community support throughout this week of spring break."

Next up for the Tars is #43 Hillsdale College out of Michigan on Sunday, March 12th at noon.
