WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 9, 2022) – The Tars and the Nova Southeastern Sharks battled in a pair of extra inning contests to begin their three game series. Rollins would come out victorious in both games, winning the first 1-0, before taking the second 3-2. With the wins the Tars improve to 30-7 overall, and, take sole possession of first place in the conference with a 21-5 record in Sunshine State Conference play. The Sharks fall to 33-17, and 19-7 against SSC opposition.

GAME ONE: Rollins 1, Nova Southeastern 0
Raiven Bryant and
Ashley Worrell both went 2-4 at the plate, as the Tars scattered nine hits over the nine innings.Â
Taylor Waters went 1-2 at the plate, reached twice on walks, stole two bases, and tallied the game's lone run. Worrell starred for the Tars in the circle. The senior hurler tossed the full nine shutout innings, picking up the win, while allowing just three hits, and fanning 12 Sharks.

Ryleigh Langwell tallied two of Nova Southeastern's three hits to lead the Sharks offense. Ashley Connor suffered just her third loss of the year after pitching 8.1 innings, giving up nine hits, and only one unearned run.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Second Inning:
- The Tars loaded the bases with three singles, but could not push a run across the board early.
Fourth Inning
- The Sharks used back-to-back singles to help them get runners on second and third, but Ashley Worrell tallied one of her 12 strikeouts to escape the jam.
Ninth Inning
- Taylor Waters led off the inning with a walk.
- The Rollins outfielder advanced to second on a Lexi Moore single.
- The Tars tried to advance their runners with a double steal. While trying to throw out the runner at third, the ball flew awkwardly out of the Sharks' catchers hand and Waters was able to round the base, and score the game winning run.
GAME TWO: Rollins 3, Nova Southeastern 2
Raiven Bryant continued to swing a hot bat, leading Rollins by going 2-4, with a homerun and a pair of RBI.Â
Grace Germer and
Ashley Troutman tallied matching stat lines, going 1-4 with a run scored.Â
Jaden Walker also went 1-4 in the game, and tallied the game winning RBI.Â
Emily MacMullen tossed the full nine innings, surrendering a pair of runs, on seven hits, while striking out seven.

Madison Fine and Sidney Swantic each went 2-4 and drove in a run for the Sharks in the second game. Emily Hess threw 8.1 innings for Nova Southeastern, giving up three runs, two earned, on seven hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Inning
- The Sharks got on top early with an RBI single from Fine.
Third Inning
- Troutman slapped a two out single to left field.
- Raiven Bryant then skied a homerun deep over the centerfield wall, giving Rollins a 2-1 lead.
Sixth Inning
- A leadoff walk put the Sharks in business. The runner would advance to second on a groundout.
- Swantic hit a sharp groundball to the shortstop, the ball took a nasty hop and allowed the runner to score the equalizer.
Ninth Inning
- Grace Germer popped up to shallow right field, but a pair of Sharks did not communicate and ran into each other, allowing the ball to drop, and the Tars to get a runner on second.
- Jaden Walker would hit a sharp groundball up the middle, allowing Germer to score from second, and giving Rollins the walkoff win.
