HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Inning
- Achuff doubled with one out in the first, and three batters later came around to score the first run of the game on a double by Santucci.
Second Inning
- Meehan led off the second with a double and Healy followed that with an infield single that caromed off first base, moving Meehan to third.
- Post then drove in Meehan with an RBI groundout to make it 2-0.
- Joey Rubin laced the next pitch into center field for an RBI single, scoring Healy.
- After Rubin moved up on an error and took third on a wild pitch, Achuff hit a sacrifice fly to score him with the third run of the frame, giving Rollins a 4-0 lead.
Third Inning
- The Tars added two more in the third on a two-run home run off the bat of Meehan.
Fourth Inning
- Assumption scored its only run of the game in the fourth on a two-out solo home run from Preston.
Sixth Inning
- Post led off with a bloop double and the next three Tars drew walks, capped by an RBI walk from Adams Torres.
- Two batters later, Santucci hit into a fielder's choice that scored Rubin; the shortstop's throw to first to try to turn the double play went wide, allowing Sam Tanous to scamper home from second to make it 9-1 Tars.
Eighth Inning
- The Greyhounds threatened to trim the deficit in the eighth, drawing three straight walks to open the inning.
- Swift came on in relief and slammed the door shut, striking out the side to keep it a 9-1 game.
- Kyle Bullock tacked on one last run in the eighth on an infield single that plated Tanous.
Ninth Inning
- Swift stayed on the mound for the ninth and repeated his eighth-inning performance, striking out all three batters in the inning to secure the 10-1 win.
