BOCA RATON, Fla. (February 26, 2022) – The 2021-22 season came to an end for the Rollins women's basketball team on Saturday with a 64-46 loss at Lynn. The Tars end the year with a 6-19 record, 3-17 in SSC contests, while the Fighting Knights improve to 12-12 overall, 10-10 in league games.
Niya Pluviose led the Tars with 14 points and grabbed four rebounds, while Kalilia Fambro added nine points.
Lucy Leen led the team in rebounds (5) and assists (4).
Kelsi Fizer and Rachel Romich each scored a game-high 16 points for Lynn, with Fizer also contributing a game-high seven rebounds. Uloma Enyogasi added 12 points while Dani Lozzi led all players in assists (6) and steals (4).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
- Lynn scored the first four points of the game to jump out to an early lead.
- The lead grew to as many as nine (17-11) before a Grace Alfieri triple made it 17-11 after one quarter.
Second Quarter
- The Tars closed the gap to just two points on two separate occasions in the second quarter.
- Lynn finished the half on a quick 6-0 run to take a 28-20 lead into the break.
Third Quarter
- Rollins was within five (28-23) with 6:25 to go in the quarter, but ultimately fell behind by as many as 16.
- The Fighting Knights led 47-33 after 30 minutes of play.
Fourth Quarter
- Rollins wasn't able to cut into the lead in the fourth quarter as a result of Lynn shooting 70% (7-of-10) from the field in the period.
- The Fighting Knight lead hit 20 points (58-38) with 5:16 to go as the home team went on to win, 64-46.
