Bucs Spoil Senior Day

Barry defeated Rollins 1-0 on Friday afternoon

WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 28, 2022) - The Rollins Tars dropped their final regular season game of the year to the Barry Buccaneers, losing 1-0 on Friday afternoon. The loss wraps up the Tars season at 5-8-3 (2-7-1 SSC), while Barry improves to 8-4-4 (3-3-4 SSC).

Barry was the aggressor in the first half, working to take six more shots than the Tars, 10-4. However, goalie Michelle Fickett was more than up to the challenge, stopping all four that were on goal to keep Bucs of the board. Rollins took four shots in the first half, all of which were on goal, but Ficett's counterpart, Emily Parrott, was equally impressive with four saves as well.

After the scoreless first half, the only score came early on in the second. In the 54th minute, Barry's Tessa Evans found herself on the right sde of the Tars' zone. After maneuvering around a pair of Rollins defenders, she loaded up and ripped a heater past Fickett to score the only goal of the game.

Rollins, who needed to win to stay alive in the SSC playoff hunt, went all out for the final 25 minutes with an aggressive attack on offense. However, the Bucs defense held strong, led by Parrott, who would end the game with six saves.

Prior to the start of the match, the Tars coaching staff honored four graduating seniors who were playing for the final time at Cahall-Sandspur Field: Emma Hudson, Noel Miller, Meghan Mosley, and Sarah Skala
