WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 10, 2021) – The Tars fell for the first time in 2021, dropping their home opener 4-1 at the hands of the West Florida Argonauts. Rollins now sits at 1-1-1 overall early in the campaign, while West Florida improves to 2-0-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- The Argos got on the board early, with Kainan Dos Santos slicing through the Tars defense and placing a shot in the bottom corner of the goal in just the third minute.
- The Tars recovered and the remainder of the half was played fairly evenly. Both teams fired four shots in the half, and put two on target, while Rollins won a pair of corners.
Second Half
- West Florida would double their lead just four minutes into the second half. Keegan Ancelin got a glancing touch and a low Ed Chappe cross to redirect the ball beyond a sprawling Maximillian Obermeier.
- The Tars would cut the lead in the 57th minute with a beautiful free kick from Jari Polm. From 25 yards out, the German curved the ball over the wall and inside the near post for his first goal of the year.
- West Florida did not take long to regain their two goal lead, when Chappe and Acelin combined again in the 61st minute to make the score 3-1.
- The Argos sealed the match away in the 81st minute. With Rollins pushing number forward, a turnover gave Josiah Fontenot all the room he needed to finish one-on-one with the keeper.
