HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- The Tars got on the board early, finding the back of the net in just the second minute. Tayla Duffy set Sophia Olore free down the wing with a nifty back heel. Olore sprinted down the sideline and sent a low cross to the back post, where Vilja Aaltonen tapped the ball into an open net. This was Aaltonen's first score in Blue and Gold.
- Rollins dominated play, taking seven shots, while the Sailfish could not manage an attempt on net. Rollins earned three corner kicks while Palm Beach Atlantic did not get one set piece opportunity.
Second Half
- The Tars and Sailfish battled back and forth for the opening half hour of the second period.
- Rollins finally doubled their lead in the 76th minute. Tayla Duffy fired a free kick off the post, but Olore was first to pounce on the loose ball and direct it into the net.
- The Tars iced the game away with just minutes remaining. Kayla Park carved through the Sailfish defense and laid the ball off to Jessie Wade. Wade put a shot off the post that bounced kindly to the feet of Chynna McGirt. The senior kicked the ball into the net to make the score 3-0.Â
