WINTER PARK, Fla. (May 15, 2020) – Rollins College has announced the elimination of the men's and women's cross country programs.
The decision was made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the college. In anticipation of lower enrollments and budget concerns, a comprehensive review was conducted by Rollins leadership. That process resulted in a reduction of staff and programs across the college.
"Cross Country student-athletes have been outstanding representatives of Rollins both in the classroom and competition," said Director of Athletics Pennie Parker. "Eliminating the program was a very painful decision and one that was not made without careful thought. I appreciate the team's commitment to Rollins Athletics and always value them as members of the Tars Family."
Tars cross country has a combined three Sunshine State Conference Championships in its history, one in men's and two in women's.
